Little Venetian History

Venice, Italy
The majestic floating city consists of 118 small islands connected by 177 canals. ✨
According to historians, Venice started right after the fall of the Roman Empire, when the venetians went to the near by marshes in order to escape barbarians. They found refuge in the sandy islands of Isolo, Malamocco, and Torcello. What was supposed to be a temporary solution, became a permanent home for the Venetian people, and ultimately, today's beautiful Venice.
